Dunedin could be a home away from home for the Tactix next season.

The Canterbury-based ANZ Championship franchise is considering farming out one of its home games to the Edgar Centre next year.

The ANZ Championship draw was released yesterday and features a gap for the Tactix' home fixture against the Adelaide Thunderbirds on May 27.

Netball New Zealand operations director Kate Agnew could not be reached for comment yesterday to answer the obvious question - why would the Tactix consider playing a home game in Dunedin?

But Edgar Centre manager Blair Crawford confirmed the national body has been in contact to ascertain whether the venue was available.

"We still need to get ratification from Netball New Zealand but it is a possibility [the game will be staged here]," Crawford said.

"We've told them that date is available."

The Tactix will host two games in Nelson this season and are also playing home games at the CBS Canterbury Arena in Christchurch.

The Tactix play the Steel in Dunedin on June 9 and the Steel is also hosting the Thunderbirds at the Edgar Centre.

Should the Tactix also host the Thunderbirds in Dunedin, the games could be promoted as a sort of tournament within a tournament.

The Steel is only playing two home games in Dunedin next year, so Crawford believes the extra game would capture the public's imagination.

"I'm sure it wouldn't be as popular as a Steel game but hopefully people see it as a quality game they would like to attend."
