The WORD Christchurch festival will offer readers an opportunity to connect with Ferguson over a cup of tea on August 28 at 8am in the Philip Carter Family Concert Hall, The Piano.
She will talk about the book and how she follows the first rule of writing in her debut novel - write what you know.
Set in the Victorian era, it tells the story of a fiery red head who rejects the confines of nobility and duty to the dismay of society and family.
The Duchess will appear in conversation with author Nicky Pellegrino.
"We know it’s early, but grab your friends, your mum and your aunts, and come and share the experience over a cup of tea and a bite. You can also submit a question in advance, and if selected will get a front row seat and the chance to ask it face to (digital) face!" a WORD Christchurch spokesperson said.
The 61-year-old was also interviewed on Radio 4’s Front Row recently, where she revealed she has signed another book deal with her publisher, Mills & Boon.
Ferguson didn’t discuss any specific details about her next narrative, but there’s a good chance it will be similar to Her Heart for a Compass.
