Holes and trenches will be dug along several Dunedin CBD streets over the next four weeks, as the city council works out the best options for renewing water pipes in the area.
A traffic management plan will be in place and the work will done at night, from Sunday.
Bath St will be closed between 7pm and 6am each day for the first two weeks.
Works on Moray Pl and Lower Stuart St will take place between 7pm and 6am for the following two weeks, though foot and vehicle traffic may continue to use the streets during that time.
A council statement said staff had contacted affected businesses.
