One man died and another is in a serious condition in hospital after a motorbike veered off the road in Auckland this morning.
Police and ambulance services were called to a crash in Dairy Flat in Auckland at about 1.44am today, said police.
"A high powered motorcycle failed to take a corner and left the road in a rural area.''
Police said a 52 year old man was thrown from the motor cycle he was driving, and died at the scene.
The other 52 year old pillion passenger survived the crash, and was taken to Auckland Hospital.
He is in a serious condition with multiple leg fractures, police said.
The Serious Crash Unit have carried out a scene examination.
Police said no further comment will be made until the next of kin have been informed.
