The 99-year-old war veteran served in the Pacific during World War 2 and has been attending Anzac commemorations ever since.
This year was no exception.
"I missed out on the cemetery [service], but I was in plenty of time for the main service," he said, following the Cromwell Memorial Hall proceedings.
"[Anzac Day] is an opportunity to think back and remember the bad times and the good times. It's always been a fairly memorable day because my father served in World War 1, where he lost an arm in Passchendaele."
Mr Landreth's father, William, was a teacher at a country school in Owaka.
Mr Landreth moved to Cromwell 34 years ago, where he is well known among Anzac Day circles.
