A man was taken to hospital after being attacked when a brawl erupted outside the Dunedin Casino.
Police were called to the intersection of Princes and High Sts about 3.25am yesterday after reports of a large number of people fighting outside the casino.
One man had been kicked in the head and was injured, Sergeant Keith Early said.
The man was taken to Dunedin Hospital as a result of his injuries.
"It would appear that it was unprovoked," he said.
"He was set upon by four people."
A St John spokesman said the injured man, aged 25, was taken to Dunedin Hospital's emergency department with moderate injuries.
Dunedin CIB were now investigating the matter.
