Police are looking to reunite several stolen war medals with their rightful owners.
The medals were among nearly 400 stolen items of jewellery recovered by police during a crackdown on Auckland pawnbrokers.
A police spokeswoman said the medals were awarded during a number of wars, among them World War 1, World War 2 and the third Anglo-Afghan War.
Police said that anyone who thought the medals might be theirs could visit the police website, where pictures of stolen items was been put up for public viewing.
The items was recovered during Operation Castle, in which police executed 44 search warrants and made 47 arrests.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of property was recovered.
Police said 92 claims had been registered since the website picturing the stolen items went live in late April. Eight items had been positively identified, while another 25 were the subject of continuing enquiries to verify ownership.
