Fire crews move a car involved in a nose-to-tail crash with a van which blocked Caversham Valley Rd yesterday afternoon.

A police spokesman said they were called to a report of the two-vehicle crash at 2.10pm and found it blocking State Highway 1 near the Lookout Point overbridge.

The road reopened before 3pm after Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fenz) firefighters moved the vehicle.

One of the vehicles involved was believed to be a seven-seater van, the spokesman said.

A Fenz spokesman said no-one was trapped. ``People were just shaken up, really.''

St John spokesman Gerard Campbell said ambulance officers assessed and treated one man at the scene, but any injuries appeared to be ``very minor''.

A police officer and two St John paramedics examine a car which crashed into a tree on Three Mile Hill on Sunday night.

A police spokeswoman said the crash occurred about 11.20pm on Sunday night and the driver of the vehicle, who was was the sole occupant, was able to free themselves.

They were uninjured, the spokeswoman said.

Police received another call at 9.35am from a member of the public who saw the crashed car.

It was soon established it was the same crash and a tow-truck removed the car shortly after, she said.
