Dunedin man Marty Hughes was one of about 30 people queuing at 9am, buying tickets for his wife and daughter.
"She rang half an hour ago saying 'please do me a big favour ...'."
Also queuing was Breffni Hellyer, who was buying a ticket for the emerging fashion designer event. She liked seeing young talent before it was shaped too much by the industry.
The iD International Emerging Designer Awards will be held on April 7 and the iD Dunedin Fashion Show will be held on April 8 and 9.
