Alto Cafe’s chocolate brownie

Ask a Chef reveals the secrets of those superb dishes you ate in cafes and restaurants and wanted to try yourself.

Makes 16

500g chocolate buttons

500g butter

400g gluten-free flour

6 eggs

500g sugar

½ heaped cup of cocoa powder

Optional

½ cup white chocolate buttons

Method

Heat oven to 140degC.

Whisk eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy.

Melt butter and chocolate together, let cool.

When just above room temperature, add cocoa and gluten-free flour then mix well.

Add eggs and sugar.

Mix well. Fold in white chocolate buttons, if using.

Pour mixture into a slice tray and bake for 60 minutes.
