Paul's works showcased

Artist the late Joanna Margaret Paul is remembered in an exhibition opening in Dunedin tomorrow.

"The Colour of Candour" showcases many works that have not been previously exhibited, including watercolours, architectural works, landscapes and nature studies.

Paul came to Dunedin in the late 1960s and taught art at St Dominic's College.

A limited edition, numbered, hardcover catalogue printed by Kilmog Press will be launched at tomorrow's opening at 5.30pm.

The exhibition runs at the Brett McDowell Gallery until March 25.

Group exhibition

Artsenta, a shared art studio for people who are part of the mental-health community, presents an eclectic exhibition at the Art Station next week.

"Making Tracks" is a group show featuring painting, pottery, textiles, bone carving, paua and copper works, embroidery, jewellery and multimedia sculpture.

The studio offers people the opportunity to work at their own pace or with tuition and the exhibition reflects the wide variety of creative mediums it is possible to explore at Artsenta.

"Making Tracks" is open daily at the Hope Gallery, in Dunedin Railway Station, from 10am till 4pm.

It opens on Wednesday, March 10, and runs until Friday, March 19.

NZ, Swedish textile art

New Zealand and Swedish textile art comes together in a bipartite exhibition opening at the Blue Oyster next week.

"Re-Fibra" brings New Zealand perspectives and practices into dialogue with the work of leading Swedish textile artists.

Featuring the work of Victoria Andersson, Andrea Chandler, Anna Eckert, Jacquelyn Greenbank, Ngahina Hohaia, Malena Karlsson, Genevieve Packer and Jeanette Schäring, "Re-Fibra" is on at the Blue Oyster Project Art Space until March 20.

The Southern Youth Choir is looking for singers aged 16-25 and will hold auditions on March 5, 6 and 7.
