Reflagged Sealord charter fishing vessel Fishing Success arrived in Dunedin on Tuesday.

The 104.5m-long Ukrainian charter vessel, with a crew of about 80, is headed for squid fishing grounds. It is being reflagged to the Commonwealth of Dominica, with its name having been changed in Nelson late last year from the Alexander Buryachenko, by its new owners.

The vessel has been chartered by Sealord for several years and will remain in its fleet, Sealord having had a decades-long partnership with Ukrainian-owned ships Buryachenko, Professor Aleksandrov and Meridian-1.

Fishing Success was scheduled to depart at 6pm yesterday.
