Fund presentation today

The Punakaiki Fund, which aims to raise between $20 millon and $50 million to invest in New Zealand's internet and technology businesses, declared itself open for business yesterday.

Fund director Lance Wiggs said the fund had reached more than 600 potential public investors expressing an interest in investing more than $9 million.

Mr Wiggs is in Dunedin today with fellow director Chris Humphreys to give a presentation on the fund.

''As we travel the country we continue to see ...

evidence that there are a very large number of potentially investable opportunities across New Zealand,'' Mr Wiggs said.

The minimum investment is $2000, with a share price of $1. A presentation will be held at 5.30pm today in the Centre for Innovation.

''We want Punakaiki Fund to be the investor of choice for founders of the next generation of innovation-led New Zealand companies.

''We see ourselves as part of the start-up and growth stage business community, and we intend to work collaboratively with founders before, during and after investments,'' he said in an earlier statement.
