First Cxbladder test commercial sales

Dunedin-based cancer diagnostic specialist Pacific Edge capped off a fine week by announcing it had completed the first commercial sales of Cxbladder tests.

Chief executive David Darling said the sale signalled the start of the commercial revenue for the company in the United States.

The tests were order by US-based clinicians and processed in Pacific Edge USA's custom laboratory in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

''The building blocks are in place to achieve commercial success in the US, the world's largest health market,'' Mr Darling said.

''We are now starting to work with leading patient awareness to complement the growing uptake by clinicians.''

Last week, Pacific Edge finalised an agreement with FedMed, in the US to enable 40 million Americans to have access to CXbladder. On Thursday, the company was named supreme winner at the New Zealand innovation awards.
