Oceana Gold's chief operating officer Mark Cadzow has been elected chairman of lobby group Straterra, replacing inaugural chairman John Dow.
Mr Cadzow has been with East Otago-based Oceana for 21 years as a metallurgist and manager of processing, projects, mining and the environment.
Straterra was launched in 2008 and its membership represents 84% by value of New Zealand's mineral production, which includes minerals exploration, service, research and production companies.
