This year, audiences at the iD fashion shows, held at Dunedin Railway Station over iD Dunedin Fashion Week, were treated to a new section showcasing leather from a Timaru-based leather wholesaler.

Last night there wasn't a train in sight as the Dunedin Railway Station was transformed into a venue hosting the first of two fashion shows as part of iD Dunedin Fashion week. 

Approximately 1400 people poured excitedly into the Dunedin Town Hall tonight to watch one of the high-lights of iD Dunedin Fashion Week, the iD international Emerging Designer Awards, where 30 finalists from nearly 100 entries and seven countries showcased their collections.

The atmosphere behind the scenes at the iD International Emerging Designer Awards judging day today was one of anticipation and nerves, as finalists dressed models and made last-minute adjustments to their collections, before facing the panel of judges who included, fashion guru Des Rusk and designers Tanya Carlson of Carlson and Margi Robertson of NOM*d. 

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Dunedin label, Mild-Red. Amy Parsons-King talks to designer Donna Tulloch about how the label has progressed over the years.
