The weather held and there was plenty of tackling, running and shooting at the annual Otago co-educational school sports day in Dunedin yesterday.

The event attracts schools from Dunedin and a bit further afield to try rugby, football, table tennis, badminton, netball and hockey over the day.

In the basketball, Taieri College won the junior boys while Kavanagh College won the junior and senior girls. Bayfield High School won the senior boys.

Taieri College won the junior and senior netball.

In hockey, Kavanagh won the boys and Logan Park High School won the girls.

Kavanagh won the boys and girls football.

Rugby was won by Tokomairiro High School and Logan Park won the badminton.

The table tennis was won by Kavanagh.

The overall event was won by Kavanagh, with Logan Park second and Bayfield third.
