Maheno finally got some reward for its gutsy efforts when it posted its first win of the North Otago premier club season today.
The young Maheno side broke its duck with a 13-8 win over slumping Valley.
Excelsior upset Citizens Shield leader Old Boys 30-24, and Athletic Marist beat Kurow 30-22.
