Two juvenile winners from yesterday's Wingatui jumpouts will clash at the same venue in 10 days' time.

Terry Kennedy prepared a 2yr-old Jimmy Choux-Habitual filly to win the first heat over 600m, getting home over a Cecconi gelding by a nose, and indicated the $20,000 800m 2yr-old race at Wingatui on March 5 was on the cards.

One heat later, Plowshare held on to beat a 4yr-old Raise The Flag mare by a neck over 800m.

Plowshare was bought at Karaka by Lindsay Parr and trainer Steven Prince likes what he sees from the son of Guillotine.

"He's really professional and always has been from day one,'' Prince said.

Prince gave the 2yr-old a jumpout in December before giving him three weeks off and preparing him for yesterday's jumpout and the race on March 5.

Parr paid $50,000 for Plowshare in the select sale last year, with links to top performers in the bloodlines.

"He's closely related to Aerovelocity so he's got a pedigree,'' Prince said.

Plowshare's second dam Revalations is a half sister to Exodus, the dam of Aerovelocity, who won more than $HK7 million.

Wellington Cup and New Zealand Cup winner Smiling Like and Easter Handicap winner Sirstaci also feature further back in the pedigree.

Nikki Blatch, co-trainer of the Raise The Flag-Penny Rose mare, said she might give the 4yr-old another jumpout before a start at Riverton over Easter.

Appearances have been deceiving so far for Perceptive, but a jumpout win over the well-performed Avow might give the 3yr-old filly a confidence boost.

The daughter of Raise The Flag has had two starts - a 10th at Oamaru in July before a flat 13th at Gore two weeks ago.

"She's let me down - it's showed me tons on the track, but she's not doing it on race day,'' co-trainer Brian Anderton said.

"But, hopefully, she's turned the corner. I might take her to Cromwell [on Sunday] for a 1400m maiden.''

Avow could start at Wingatui on March 5, Anderton said.
