The White Robe Lodge juggernaut is just starting to rumble before late spring and summer racing.

Trainers Brian and Shane Anderton presented 21 horses to the jumpouts at Wingatui yesterday.

The Andertons trained the winners of four of the heats, the other two going to Terry Kennedy-trained horses..

Five of the heats were run over 800m. The first heat of open horses produced the quickest time of the day when Norah and Coulee battled out the closing stages of the 800m heat in 47.76sec.

The second heat was almost 1.3sec slower, but the proverbial blanket could have been thrown over Quartet, Ruby's Rose and Tommy Tucker as they finished within two noses of each other in 49.01sec.

Shane Anderton said yesterday's jumpouts were timely with many of their team not quite ready to run at Wingatui last Saturday, although many of them will be at the Otago Racing Club meeting at Wingatui on October 22.

''The majority will probably kick off out here - it's on our back door,'' he said.

''We'll get home and do bit of homework, but the next trials weren't meant to be for two weeks, so this was a good chance to give them a run.

''We're not in too much of a hurry. When they're ready, they'll let us know.''

Anderton said Tommy Tucker (eight wins) and Avow (three wins) could head north to Riccarton, depending on how quickly they come up.

Avow was not among the top three in the first 800m heat, but Anderton hopes she can work through the grades after finishing the 2014-15 season with a rating of 69.

''This year she'll hopefully get to the country cups and maybe a little bit better,'' he said.

''Coulee went well last year, and if she goes on with it, she'll be all right.''

Inbee was a comfortable 1 length winner in the second 800m maiden heat in 48.55sec.

Her trainer, Terry Kennedy, said the daughter of Bachelor Duke was likely to start her campaign over 1200m at the next meeting at Wingatui.

The mare had one start as a 3yr-old in April, finishing fourth behind Whiskey Bolero at Wingatui.
