An 18-year-old man will appear in the Dunedin District Court on June 21 after he allegedly drove his car through several red lights, failed to stop for police and crashed into a traffic pole in Dunedin on Friday.
The man was charged with dangerous driving causing injury and failing to stop for police after a short pursuit ended when he crashed his Mitsubishi Lancer in Queens Gardens.
A passenger was injured, but not seriously, and did not need to be taken to hospital.
The crash happened about 8pm.
